2009 TRACK SEASON The Mesquite Friendship Striders will start the 2009 track season, March 23, 6pm at the Wilkerson Middle School track and field complex. Ages 6 thru 14. High School students will start at the conclusion of the high school state meets.

The Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church (MFBC) Striders is an Evangelistic Ministry of MFBC. Formed 11 years ago, the Striders ministry has reached out to thousands of young people between the ages of 5-18. This ministry is open to youth throughout the Dallas Metroplex. As a result, several new families have joined MFBC and accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. This year, the Striders had 69 competitors from Mesquite & surrounding cities to compete in the USA Junior Olympics Track and Field. As a track team, the young runners performed well. All 69 youth participated in the Southwestern Division trials, 30 advanced to the regional track meet and 11 advanced to the National Junior Olympics in Omaha Nebraska. Two of our MFBC youth received metals. Daysha Bullocks placed 8th in the nation for the 1500 meter run and Jordan Wilson placed 6th in the nation for the triple jump.
