Biography of Rev. Terry M. Turner

Rev. Terry M. Turner is a native of Guthrie, Oklahoma.  He attended Guthrie Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1975.  He later graduated from Langston University in 1979 with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.  In his senior year of college, he accepted his call into the ministry.  He served the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Guthrie, OK as an assistant-to-the-pastor in 1981 and as pastor from 1982 through 1989.  Pastor Turner began his formal training for ministry in 1981 at The King is Coming Bible Institute, Oklahoma City, OK, receiving a Certificate in Christian Work in 1983 and a Diploma in Theology in 1985.  In 1989, he continued his training for ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary earning Master Degrees in Biblical Studies (1991) and Christian Education (1995).  He has been listed as an honored professional in the national register Who’s Who Executive and Professionals 2002 edition.  Pastor Turner currently serves on the executive Board Member of the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention.

 After graduation From Dallas Theological Seminary in 1991, Pastor Turner organized and planted the Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church Mesquite, Texas with five families as a core group; the church has now grown to over 2,100 members.  He also organized The Biblical Truth Ministries radio & tv broadcast.  He has been married for 27 years to Nancy; they have three children, one son-in-law, two daughter-in-laws and five grandchildren.
